Transforming Lives, Inspiring Hope
Welcome to our non-profit community, where creativity drives meaningful change. We are dedicated to developing lasting solutions for our society's most urgent issues. At Deborah's Place, we offer safe housing, job training, personal care, and strong community support for those in need, helping everyone have the chance to succeed.
Our Mission
The mission of Deborah’s Place is to empower survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, women rebuilding their lives after incarceration, justice-impacted youth and adults, seniors, and underserved families by removing barriers to safety, stability, opportunity, and long-term self-sufficiency.
Through safe and supportive housing, reentry services, workforce development and registered apprenticeships, education, essential resources, legal-access initiatives, transportation assistance, mentorship, and community-based programming, we help individuals move from crisis to stability and from stability to lasting economic mobility.
Deborah’s Place restores dignity, strengthens families, and creates pathways for people to heal, rebuild, and achieve sustainable futures.
Our Vision
We envision communities where survivors of domestic violence, justice-impacted individuals, and underserved families have access to the safety, resources, education, relationships, and opportunities they need not only to survive, but to thrive.

Our Services
-
Deborah’s Place offers transitional housing for homeless and battered women, providing a secure space for healing and rebuilding. We assist residents in finding permanent housing and equip them with the resources, counseling, and life skills needed for long-term stability. Our cooperative, peaceful community fosters personal growth, independence, and empowerment. Coming in 2026, we will expand our services to support teen mothers and those battling addiction offering stable housing, childcare assistance, and educational opportunities.
-
Through our outreach programs, we provide essential resources such as rental and utility assistance, food, clothing vouchers, and household items to individuals and families in crisis. We partner with local organizations, businesses, and service providers to expand access to critical support, addressing homelessness, poverty, and domestic violence at the community level.
-
Deborah’s Place provides hands-on medical training and certification programs to prepare individuals for stable careers in healthcare. Participants gain practical skills, career coaching, and job placement support to secure employment in hospitals, clinics, and home healthcare settings. Our program offers training in Medical Assisting, CNA, Medical Billing & Coding, Pharmacy Technician, QMA, EKG Technician, and Phlebotomy, equipping graduates with the qualifications needed for long-term success in the medical field.
-
We prepare individuals for stable employment through GED assistance, career certifications, and job readiness training. Our programs include financial literacy, customer service training, resume building, and interview coaching, with job placement support to help participants achieve long-term success. We also provide vocational and life skills training for nonviolent offenders through our Indiana Inmate Training Program, equipping them for a successful transition back into society.
